Centerville AIR Techs became an LLC in August of 2015. We became the airport FBO in January 2018. We decided to start the company when we saw the need at the airport for a maintenance/avionic shop in southern Iowa. Between Ken and Tony they have all the skills and certificates to repair and install equipment of all sizes of planes.
Ken has been an instructor for new pilots for 29 years. He has over 3800 hours of flight time on all sizes of airplanes. Ken is excellent at maintenance and has had his A&P license since 1992. He has been an IA mechanic, doing annuals and troubleshooting planes since 2004.
For the last year, Ken has proven that he can maintain the grounds and hangers at the airport. He has successfully advertised the airport through his connections with pilots and aircraft owners around the area. Being a pilot for almost 30 years, Ken knows many other pilots, airport managers, and maintenance workers, ensuring that he is able to communicate with pilots and families as they visit our community.
Tony retired from the Air Force in 2004. He has over 30 years of experience as an aircraft mechanic but also took the opportunity to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Professional Aeronautics and a Master’s degree in business and computer information management.
He has a private pilot license, Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) license, Certified Electronic Technician Certificate, and FCC license. In 2012, Tony was appointed to the Airport Commission and served on the board for 5 years. During that time, Tony was instrumental in helping the airport grow. Tony has been around airplanes most of his life and likes spending time at the Centerville Airport.
